Oh I get it. Quarantine and Lock down are a little boring. But hey, I’ve got you this opportunity to dive into a voyage with me. Let the travel plans be on hold, but don’t you stop dreaming about them. Taking you to the seven days cruising experience leading us to the gorgeous Bermuda Islands with Norwegian Cruise Line – Norwegian Gem.
It was a massive, gorgeous ship with the jaw dropping artwork by Peter Max. It was my first experience of cruising with NCL and I had a gem of an experience. Also, don’t stress if you don’t know who Peter Max is. Attending the art auctions and bidding on paintings made me familiar to many more artists on cruise. Why To Choose Vacay On a Cruise?
Cruises are a great way to cover more cities in one voyage. With wide choice- you can go for dinner in an evening dress or in shorts, try the kind of cuisine you want at one spot. Enjoy some Broadway musical or eat popcorn while watching a movie. You get to do everything in one ship!
Goodbyes Were Never This Exciting
It’s true! I could not wait to discover everything that NCL had to offer. Events, Games, Pool, Jacuzzi, Clubs, Crazy Music and Food to die for. We were welcomed by an amazing band and some thrilling moves to follow and participate in the dance carnival.
Have Sea Sickness? You got nothing to worry about.
Well in the beginning I was a bit worried with my motion sickness. Being on a boat makes me feel nauseated. Fortunately, I had left my anti vomit pills at home only to realize I didn’t need them on the cruise On top of that, they provide motion sickness/ anti-nausea patches easily available at the medical centers. Extra tip: You can avoid spending a lot of time on the front and back ends of the ship.
You Never Run Out of Food Options
With the freestyle cruising, you can choose where and when to dine in. You can go to the diner and enjoy the delish buffet with a range of food from American cheese burgers, Customized Pasta, Asian Sushi to the great Indian buffet or you can pick one of the specialty restaurants which serve authentic cuisine from around the globe.
For someone like me who’s palette changes every hour, the cruise had variety to serve my cravings. I ended up going for Smoked salmon, Tuna sandwich and their finest Caesar salads. And yes, adios to diet plans,I would love to place the crown on – caramel brulee which I announce to be my most favourite dessert by NCL.
Endless Ocean All Around
Whether it’s the view of an endless ocean from the small round window in your room or the feeling of being stranded in the middle of the ocean as you sit by the deck. Your subconscious mind will allow you to sail far away into you as you stare at the moving water changing its tones from white to turquoise to ocean blue
Not a Moment of Boredom
Engage yourself in an array of activities suitable for each member of your family. From award-winning casino, waterpark, fitness center, art gallery, spa sessions to social circles – made for all genders. However, I was mostly found sipping virgin mojitos in a jacuzzi with my sister or bidding on my favourite paintings in the art auction. Utterly thankful to have sang my heart out on a Taylor Swift song during one of the Country Music Nights.
Observation center and Library
For the ones who need a getaway, sitting by these tables placed to connect the best with the scenic views or diving in your favourite reads as you see the world paused around you.
Shopping Duty-free
Good news for the shopping connoisseurs out there! The prices onboard are quite pleasant and you can spend some time exploring popular brands, diamond jewelries, gadgets, or embrace yourself for a quick flea as the end of your trip is close.
Bedazzling Backdrops
I was absolutely impressed by the colours and light in our family portraits especially during the golden hour after we left from Bermuda. There is something so mesmerizing in not having buildings to cast shadows around you and in witnessing sunsets right till it meets the horizon.
While having our last breakfast buffet we shared the grief of cooking our own food from next day onward and the little things like being greeted and served by the cutest Korean staff will be missed. However, cruising is one of the best ways to enjoy the vacation and tour places without sweating on finding activities to do, or picking hotels at the destination. If you are fond of travelling without the hassle of finding a hotel, searching for food spots, and spending some relaxing holidays you got to start planning your cruise trip soon.
